The Thing From Another World (1951)

This set of images are of a diorama depicting a scene from the Howard Hawks' production of "The Thing from another World" (1951).
The set up shows the C-47 ''Tropical Tilly'' on the Arctic surface awaiting the dog sled containing the ice block of the 'Thing' that was frozen in the ice after it's spaceship crashed through the icy surface.
The diorama is 12 inches by 12 inches. The snow surface is composed of super sculpey and painted with white acrylic paint. The model of the C-47 is a 1/72 scale Testors R4D Polar transport. The characters are from various 1/72 sources and the ice block with the Thing is a larger figure encased in a lump of paraffin.
